Technician
I was born and raised in the small town of Maurice, Louisiana—a place where everyone knows your name, and the charm of the bayou runs deep. Growing up, I never quite knew what I wanted to do with my life, and like many others, I found myself at a crossroads when it came time to choose a career path. That all changed in 2023, when a close friend shared an exciting opportunity with me: working in the eye care field as an optometric technician. It was a revelation, and I jumped at the chance.
Since stepping into the world of optometry, I’ve been on a journey of constant learning and growth. Every day in my role as an optometric tech is a new adventure. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness a wide variety of patient cases, and one of the most fascinating aspects has been the opportunity to observe retinal images up close—something I never imagined would captivate me as much as it has. The world of eye care is incredibly dynamic, and the more I learn, the more I realize how much there is to discover.
One of the greatest highlights of my career has been working with the team at Acadiana Optics. I can honestly say that I love my job—something I’ve never been able to say until now. The leadership and support I receive from my bosses have made all the difference. They have created an environment where I feel valued and appreciated, both inside and outside of work. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing people who make coming to work every day a pleasure.
If I had to choose three words to describe myself, I would say I’m optimistic, approachable, and passionate. These traits reflect how I approach both my personal life and my work. I take pride in my ability to stay positive, build connections with others, and pursue my passions with enthusiasm. Outside of work, I’m a family-oriented person who cherishes the time I spend with my kids and my boyfriend. Family is everything to me, and I love creating memories with them. I also have a bit of a weakness for shopping—I’ll admit, I probably enjoy it a little too much! But if there's one thing I truly love about living in Acadiana, it's the food. The region is famous for its culinary treasures, and I can never resist the temptation to indulge in some of the best meals around. All in all, I’m grateful for the journey I’ve been on and look forward to what the future holds, both in my career and personal life.
